GB Game Types.

Whats going to be BTR's "Home Turf" in terms of game type, we going for tactical SnD, run and grab capture the flag, this is because any challenges, we must be able to compete at our highest level. Here are the MLG Maps, and Game Types with the MLG rules.

The following settings are specific to each Game Mode, so please read them carefully before setting up the server.

Number of lives: 1 Life
Plant Time: 7.5 Seconds
Defuse Time: 7.5 Seconds
Multi Bomb: Disabled
Score Limit: 4 Points
Round Switch: Every Round

Capture the Flag
Time Limit: 10 Minutes
Score Limit: Unlimited
Respawn Delay: 7.5 Seconds
Note: In the event of a tie, the Overtime tie-breaker will not be used, the map must be replayed until a winner is found.

Demolition
Time Limit: 3 Minutes
Round Switch: Every Round
Bomb Timer: 45 Seconds
Plant Time: 5 Seconds
Defuse Time: 5 Seconds
Extra Time: 2 Minutes
Respawn Delay: 5 Seconds

Well, this is the MLG Variation of the rules that must be abided to participate in GB. I think that if we were to get serious, and to start developing we must timetable more practice sessions, that people can make, this would both help people, and give insights into how people actually play.

Tactics must also be drafted up for the above maps, and as in the strategy section, we'd need to get down the locations so when shouted out, we can pinpoint the enemy which is crucial, as the only time we'd have a radar is from UAV due to the setting is turned off.

I'm only using my knowledge from when i used to play counter-strike and played in teams that participated in clanbattes and CPL. We were playing with Norwegian National Pros for our practice clan wars. So i do have an idea how the competitive side is ran.

Commitment is everything, I for one can say that i can contradict what i've just said about timetabling sessions and frequent Practice Clan Wars, as being a student all i do is go out frequently and leave several assignments to the night before, typical student haha. But i feel, that the success with my counter-strike clans was from building a solid team that was more than capable, and happy to swap in and out of practice sessions, having 12 players was a great start as we could intergrate between people and have Inner-Clan Wars against people on our team and provide positive feed back, or constructive criticism to not knock a team mates confidence, but to encourage them. Above all, we knew everyones tactic, and could immediately switch roles on command, making plan changing, or member swapping highly efficient.

Just my few cents, as with the player base BTR has, it could push semi-pro leagues. Don't forget the main reason for MW2 though, it's a video game, and is meant for entertainment purposes.

Cheers, by timetabling, like if we have a time that people come on for say 20:00 everyday or on mondays, wednesdays and fridays etc., and spend atleast an hour going through new tactics, tips, and discuss issues, it would provide a stable platform for BTR to persue the semi-pro leagues.

Haha yea, this is where Turtle Beach wearing opponents will have the advantage.

Why turtle beach? I'm lost.......shouldn't any normal team communications be the same? Does turtle beach give you epic "know where the enemy is" radar boost that I don't know about? Is that why I die all the time?

Ah so just chirping in. you guys will have to get me to acquire a taste for SnD...because I hate it. Also I noticed that since I fixed my internet...I haven't gamed with anyone SO!!! We need to do a game soemtime soon so I can get back in the loop of gaming with you all with my AWESOME connection, lol.

Haha, SnD can be off putting due to the no respawns. However, it is pretty much the most tactically demanding and you can pull off very clever tricks, traps and lucky stuff. If your on tonight, we can give it

i think we should start doing some tactical training prior to GB, and start challenging teams with the maps we learn. Highrise is probably the best to start with due to it's popularity with SnD, and the amount of cheeky stuff you can pull off on it.
